In defense of Doctors

It was about 2 am, one day, when a patient was brought to the casualty ward of the Civil Hospital in Solapur with a head injury. The surgical resident on duty was asked to escort the patient to get a CT scan done. While he was doing so, he was approached by a policeman who asked him to attend to a lady in labor. The resident tried to contact the gynecology department but on being unable to do so, gave the policeman the intercom number. He tried to return to his patient. At this juncture, the policeman beat him up and dragged him by his hair to the corridor. This event was captured on CCTV. What followed was a state-wide protest, by the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors, which culminated in the suspension of the policemen and the launch of a CID investigation into the matter. Happy ending?

A few days after this incident I overheard a conversation between some locals. The police were being victimized and how the doctor was obviously at fault. Doctors are obviously out just to rob people of their hard earned money. I am no one to judge anyone involved in the incident but what worries me is that such anti-doctor sentiments prevail all over the country even as I write this. Continue Reading..

Flight MH70: The most staunch theory revealed.

The American is withdrawing from the Afghanistan, one of their command and control system (used for controlling the pilotless drones) was hijacked by the Talebans when the American transport convoy was moving down from one of the hill top bases. The Talebans ambushed the convoy and killed 2 American Seal personnel, seized the equipment/weapons, including the command and control system which weighed about 20 tons and packed into 6 crates. This happened about a month ago in Feb 2014.

What the Talebans want is money. They want to sell the system to the Russian or the Chinese. The Russian is too busy in Ukraine. The Chinese are hungry for the system’s technology. Just imagine if the Chinese master the technology behind the command and control system, all the American drones will become useless. So the Chinese sent 8 top defense scientists to check the system and agreed to pay millions for it.

Sometime in early Mar 2014,  the 8 scientists and the 6 crates made their way to Malaysia, thinking that it was the best covert way to avoid detection. The cargo was then kept in the Embassy under diplomatic protection.  Meanwhile the American has engaged the assistance of Israeli intelligence, and together they are determined to intercept and recapture the cargo. Crimea: A game of motives

Crimea has been talked about a lot in the past few weeks after the very tense situation that has been put forward by Russian action. So we have seen a flurry of media coverage and activity in the area and almost every move by any of the parties are now under close scrutiny.

What doesn’t make any sense at all is the reason for Russia to put troops in Crimea and aid its secession from Ukraine. The fact remains that Russia’s move to put troops in Crimea was on a pretexts which had no grounding. The protection of the Russian-speaking population of Crimea being an objective makes no sense because the question of persecution itself does not arise. There has been no records of the Ukrainian government discriminating against the Russian speaking people by international agencies, human rights organizations or from the Russian Federation or the Russian speakers themselves.
