Argentina vs Switzerland Review: Late di María Strike breaks Swiss hearts

Argentina booked their spot in the quarter finals after beating Switzerland in the penultimate round of 16 game,thanks to a late late and late Ángel di María strike in the 118th minute.The strike finally seem to have woken up the Swiss,who had several good chances to take the lead in the first half as they made one last raid on the Argentine goal,desperately in search of an equalizer.But it was not to be and the Swiss crashed out of the tournament in a heart breaking fashion.

The initial 5 odd minutes of the game gave us an idea of what to expect from the game as the Albiceleste were seeing more of the ball while the Swiss were clearly set up to sit deep and deny any space, especially for Lionel Messi to play his game and look to hit them on the counter with Shaqiri’s pace and trickery on the wings. Netherlands vs Mexico – Dubious Finale, Great Match

This World Cup has been absolutely nail-biting hasn’t it? Well there has been other forms of biting too …

Netherlands vs Mexico was set up to be an even affair, particularly after Mexico’s tremendous showing in the group stages where they only conceded one goal that too, towards the end of their final game; once things had been decided and goals against them didn’t matter.

The game began with a large amount of possession and domination by Mexico particularly in the Netherlands’ half. They looked more comfortable on the ball stitching together meaningful passes and trying to make their way past the Netherlands’ defense.
